Identifying your “why” is a powerful question, isn’t it? For years, I’ve been on a quest to create a successful blog. While I’ve faced setbacks, my determination remains unwavering.
My journey began in college, but the roots of my “why” trace back to my childhood. Growing up in an urban environment as the oldest daughter, I faced challenges that made me shy and hesitant to express myself. My parents struggled to provide the support I needed, leaving me to stifle my voice and keep many secrets.
In that silence, I turned to books. Reading became my refuge and a form of therapy that nurtured my mental health. Alongside my love for reading, I discovered writing—a means to articulate my thoughts and feelings. This therapeutic process sparked my passion for academic studies. As the first person in my family to attend a four-year college, I transformed my life and set a new course for my future.
Today, my “why” is clear: I want to share the insights I’ve gained from my experiences as a Black girl navigating a predominantly non-Black college environment. I aim to discuss my expertise as an adjunct professor, licensed social worker, consultant, aspiring author, and nonprofit director.
My mission is to inspire others to stay motivated and pursue success, regardless of their past traumas. I believe in the power of resilience and want to help others uncover their potential.
As I continue to learn about SEO and the intricacies of blogging, I’m eager to connect with others who are on similar journeys. How have you successfully grown your blog? Have you discovered your “why”?
Let’s share our stories and support each other in this journey.
