Here’s a little About Me and Who I Am. I’m Latasha, a LMSW, consultant, and aspiring blogger. I’m constantly searching for new innovative ways to connect with people through lifestyle and wellness.
I’m the oldest sister of seven children from a small inner city, right outside of Philadelphia, Chester, PA. The city isn’t a kind place to most of its residents and it’s not for the weak at heart. Not many people survive and very little strive to succeed outside of the urban city limits, which says a lot about me and my journey.
Ironically, Chester is located 20 minutes from Philly, 35 minutes from Atlantic City, 2 hours away from New York City, it’s also surrounded by the Jersey Shore, Baltimore Harbor and Delaware beaches. So, it’s not too bad of an area for a flavorful lifestyle, in my opinion, which says alot about me. Being an east coast native, makes you a tough person. I believe that it’s because you get to live thru all four seasons.
I’m a book worm and a diehard music lover. Music is part of my daily lifestyle while books help me escape reality while feeding my need as a lifelong learner. Both music and books have helped me cope with childhood trauma. My parents struggled with substance abuse as well as alcohol so resilience played a great role in my ability to face adversity from a young age. That upbringing has helped me create a fulfilling lifestyle of warmth and confidence context.!
I’m a happy traveler who finds joy in meeting new people and visiting new places. I find peace in solidarity and feel secure with my place in this world. Rather than being a loner, I’m a content and decisive person, it fuels my lifestyle. Entertainment intrigues me, I find the history of celebrated people, couture fashions, historic destinations and majestic beaches to be fascinating. Oh, and I enjoy coffee every morning.
I have degrees with certifications in higher education. My bachelor’s degree is from Neuman College which is now a university while I earned my master’s degree at Wilmington University. I gain expertise within the human services field with past experience as a adjunct professor, nonprofit director, case manager, community health worker, family consultant, program supervisor, and licensed social worker; which gives you details about me and my ability to connect with people.
Early in my career, I held summer position as a librarian assistant and also worked for a criminal lawyer which was enlightening, to say the least. The irony is that even during an internship at a respectable healthcare facility. I always knew that I wanted to be a writer.
The most important thing about me is that I’m a mother of a beautiful boy. He fills my life which joy, intrigue and purpose.
I look forward to sharing my lifestyle with you and excited to create the next chapter along this journey.
Are you ready, it’s going to be a fun ride.
